- Christmas trees can drink up to a gallon of water a day. Always keep the tree stand full of cool water. - DO NOT place near any sources of heat, including fireplaces, heat vents, radiators, and televisions. - You may keep tree outside in a cool area, sitting in a bucket of water until ready to decorate. - Cut 0.5 to 1 inch off the trunk before setting up the tree. This will ensure the tree can absorb the water it needs for preservation. - Use only UL approved lights and electrical cords and devices on trees. Check electrical cords and lights for damage prior to placement on the tree.
